Mike Miller is a native Altoid (Altoona, PA) and has lived in Pittsburgh for almost ten years. His business experience includes communications and marketing in both the non-profit and for-profit (B2B & B2C). His passion lies in building relationships with all people, understanding the challenges they face, and finding creative solutions to help them achieve their goals.
Mike graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (Public Relations emphasis) and a minor in Communications Media in 2006. There, Mike realized his passion for communications by joining “Lasting Impressions,” a student-run PR agency, where he served as vice president and grew the organization from eight to 45 students in just two years, and laid the groundwork for the IUP chapter to achieve status within Public Relations Student Society of America.
Always wanting to live in Pittsburgh (32% of people laugh at that, but it’s certainly true), Mike moved there a few months after graduation with just two months rent in his bank account– forcing himself to “make it happen.” Quickly thereafter, His career started in the nonprofit sector, where he served as Communications Coordinator at ASSET STEM Education, Pittsburgh’s seventh largest nonprofit. In addition to his general marketing and government affairs roles, he played a key role in the communications efforts for the statewide STEM program Science: It’s Elementary, and later the organization’s $26 million Investing in Innovation (i3) federal grant.
Following his tenure at ASSET, Mike served as the Director of Marketing & Communications HomeWaters Club, one of the most prestigious private fly fishing clubs and corporate retreat destinations east of the Mississippi.
After some time, the owner was launching HalenHardy, LLC, a health and safety products and services company when he recruited Mike to transition companies and again direct his company’s B2B and B2C MarComm efforts, which included: website development, social media management, direct mail campaigns, execution of national trade show and speaking opportunities.
As Partner and Chief Utility Player, Mike thrives on building relationships and spearheads the overall communications and marketing efforts for their clients, including: strategy, content development, advertising and oversees the success and happiness of our partners.
